The king of realty sector attended “LEED Gold” certifications from US Green Building Council for their three office complexes which are placed in Kolkata and Hyderabad, covering over 5.2 million sq.ft. They are planning to construct all commercial buildings eco-friendly which will further increase the rental.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is known as the certification programme which identifies that a building is perfect and best from all angles like in building strategies and practices.
Including this total 17 office complex by DLF out of which 12 are in Gurgaon only have certified with LEED Gold, which covers over 16.61 million sq.ft of land.

This certification will increase the interest of tenants who are paying premium range rental, Talwar said.
DLF under which there are over 30 million sq.ft of commercial properties comprises of offices and malls from which they are getting Rs 2,000 crore of rental per annum, is looking forward to cover all their buildings under LEED certification.
Out of total 17 LEED certified companies, 12 are tucked in Gurgaon and rest two are in Kolkata and one each in Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Delhi.
The main reason behind LEED Certification is the preservation energy; enhance the quality of air, low maintenance cost, decreasing the consumption of water, and select best quality of materials to construct a building, which ensures the wastage of above mentioned things and better future for the buildings.
DLF Senior Vice President Gautam Deysaid that there will be the addition of another 5.5 million sq.ft of office complex this financial year as the they are going to prepare Chennai IT Park project for this certification programs.
