DDA has unveiled the “Housing Scheme 2014” where approximately 25,000 flats across diverse categories, while scrapping the proposed plan to reserve 80 per cent flats for the city resident. In this new scheme flats will range from 7 lakh to 1.2 crore across categories, viz- Janta flats, HIG, LIG, EWS and one room apartments which would be rolled out from 1 September.

In fact, “The aspirants can accumulate the applicants from Spetember 1 and last date to receive applicant will be October 9, additionally, the draw of lots will be taken out within 20 days of the close of the Scheme, “ said by a senior DDA official, also added investors can also apply online.
For the very first time, DDA has also introduced a five-year lock-in period for the ownership of the flats, to downsize the middleman and diminish the scope of speculative buying.
In fact, after five years, the DDA will formally execute a conveyance deed in their favour.
And the registration fee for all other categories is Rs 1 lakh and Rs 10,000 for EWS (Economically Weaker section) category. And one bedroom apartment flats are in Narela, Siraspur, Rohini and Dwarka and the one start from 14 lakh onward depending on the location, added by DDA.
Total newly-built flats 896, out of which 512 are MIG and 384 Janta Flats, situated in Rohini, Kalyan Vihar, Mukherjee Nagar and Narela and Rs 41.30 lakh and Rs 69.90 Lakh for MIG flats, whereas, Rs 1o Lakh for Janta flats (one room apartment house with kitchenette.
Moreover, DDA also proposed 80-20 quota in this Scheme,the proposal sought to offer 80 per cent flats to Delhi residents scrapped. And almost 700 flats for EWS category, which is a part of a housing complex at Swatantra Bharat Mills premise at Rohtak Road. And the flats have been developed by a private builder as part of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the builder and the DDA.
The urban body said,” The EWS flats will fall under Rs 7 lakh to Rs 11 Lakh. Over 800 old flats are located under different categories are also being offered. And these older flats consist of 49 MIG, 21 HIG flats, 451 LIG, 129 expandable & 161 Janta Flats. And the range of cost range from Rs 1.2 crore for HIG flats to Rs 5.4 lakh for Janta flats, the DDA added.
Earlier the DDA said total 26,000 flats on offer, but now it has revised to over 25,000 flats. And DDA has also decided to do away with attachments along with the application, now only a photocopy of PAN card would be considered necessary in the whole process.
And there is no bar on income limits as in for one bedroom apartments any appropriate candidate can apply. And EWS category can enjoy the instalment option and pay the cost easily.
And for unsuccessful applicants the DDA will return the registration amount within 90 days of the draw of lots and if the it holdup beyond 90 days, the interest will be paid to the applicants.
And in case of successful applicants, who make a decision to submit their allotment, will get Rs 50,000 (which has been rationalised). Any Indian citizen with 18 years of age or above on the date of application is eligible for this 2014 Scheme.
And the applicant must not own any residential flat or plot and also shouldn’t in part on leasehold or freehold in Delhi either in his/her own name or in the name of their minor or dependent children. And one person can submit one application only, and both husband and wife can apply for the flat to fulfillment of the eligibility stipulation that if both are found to be successful in this Scheme, only one of them shall sell the allotment of a flat.
